The late Honorable Bishop Cecil O. Ricketts was a patriarch of the Apostolic movement in Canada. Bishop Ricketts was born July 18, 1915 in Clarendon, Jamaica. He was baptized in Jesus’ Name at the age of 22 and ordained to the ministry in 1946. He immigrated to Canada in 1950’s and worked for CP and CN Rail until he was called by God to leave that profession to transition into full time ministry.

Bishop Ricketts was the Pastor of the Mount Zion Apostolic Church for 48 years. He was an energetic and anointed preacher of the gospel that avidly proclaimed the holiness and the righteousness of God. Throughout his four decades of leadership, the church saw much growth. In addition to serving the Lord and being a Pastor, Bishop Ricketts achieved an Honorary Doctorate degree in Theology, a Certificate in Teaching and Teaching Techniques and a Certificate in Ministerial Ethics and Homiletics.

The Mount Zion Apostolic Church under his leadership has birthed many churches throughout the city. The Lord Jesus divinely ordered Bishop Ricketts’ pathway, mapping out a distinct and unique spiritual and temporal journey that has affected the lives of many. His influence and impact has left a remarkable imprint in the Apostolic Pentecostal community within the Greater Toronto Area and reaches throughout Canada.

Bishop Ricketts was married to the lovely Phyllis Ricketts for 72 years and are the proud parents of Lloyd, Ron and Winsome, of whom have blessed them with many grand and great-grandchildren.
